I just picked up Ballad of a Shinigami 2. I’m not quite finished reading it yet but I love it just as much as I loved the first one.
One of the most obvious things that I first noticed was the thickness – volume 2 is about 240 pages long, compared to about 300-some pages from the first volume. Also, it seems that another shinigami besides Momo is going to be introduced.
Hopefully this light novel will keep me busy while I wait for nearby stores to restock on Strawberry Panic 2 and Gurren Lagann 1. It’s just so short, I hope I don’t finish it too quickly! And of course, if you read the first volume you must pick this up – and if you didn’t, well, go get the first volume. It’s extremely well-written, the characters are really believeable and develop very well, and the pictures are beautiful. The same can also be said about volume 2.
